Why Those Colors?
There are 9 base colors in 30/30: grey, green, yellow, orange, red, purple, blue, teal, and periwinkle. The last 8 are assigned to tasks.
Several people have asked, “What’s with the colors? Why did you pick those?”
The first one, grey, is the easiest. I wanted a light color that was neutral in that it wouldn’t be confused as a task color. When the timer is stopped, you need an immediate way to know that.
When I started developing 30/30, I always wanted to use the next 6 colors (green, yellow, orange, red, purple, blue) and specifically in that order. Here’s why:
The last two colors, teal and periwinkle, are colors I’m quite fond of and wanted to include. They are different enough to compliment the original 6 quite well.
And there you have it! If you follow my Twitter stream (@Bob_at_BH) you’ll see that I am crazy for the old Rainbow Logo and have been since the Apple IIe days. My Platinum IIe sits proudly next to me at my desk.

Glad you like it!
You can’t change the colors at the moment, but the next update will allow you to change the color to any of the 8 supported.

I really like the app and the color scheme, the colors really pop on the grey background (The only one you might want to tweak would be the yellow. Dark yellowy brown is not a very pretty color.) Also, it’d be cool if you could make custom modular work cycles and just add them to your list. Like if I do the same work out routine every other day I can just click on a “Saved Cycles” button and add it to my main list.

hi bob,
thanks for the changes – they’re great!
i agree with tim concerning “saved workcycles” for everyday routine (that for instance i have).
another idea/wish that i had is being able to jump to the next task when you finished one of them earlier or wanna skip one.
maybe this doesn’t fit into the philosophy of your app but anyway, this probably could help a few users…
all the best again
and by the way: maybe you’ld like to design a cool banner to be added to your users blogs to refer to your products…
